How we collect, use, and protect your information
Last Updated: 3 November 2026
Google sign-in and your data
This policy applies to TAX.hk at tax.hk, a Hong Kong tax information, calculator, and consultant-directory service. Google sign-in and Google One Tap are optional ways to create or access a TAX.hk account. You may instead register with your email address.
Information accessed and purposes
With your authorization, we request only basic identity scopes (openid, email, and profile). Google provides your Google account identifier, email address and verification status, display name, and profile picture when available. We use these to verify your identity, create or link your TAX.hk account, display your profile, and maintain your signed-in session. We do not request access to Gmail messages, Google Drive files, contacts, or calendars through sign-in.
Storage, security, and retention
We store your Google account identifier, email address, name, and profile-picture URL in our account database. Google identity credentials are processed on the server to authenticate you; the sign-in flow does not save Google access or refresh tokens to your account. Session cookies keep you signed in. We use HTTPS and server-side access controls to protect this data. No system can guarantee absolute security.
We retain account information while your account remains open and as needed to provide the service. After a verified deletion request, we delete or anonymize account information unless retention is required for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, or resolving disputes. Residual backup copies remain subject to their backup-retention cycle and are not used for ordinary service operations.
Sharing and Limited Use
Our hosting and infrastructure providers process account data to operate TAX.hk. We may disclose information when required by law or necessary to investigate abuse or protect security. We do not sell Google user data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, use it for personalized advertising or credit decisions, or use it to train generalized artificial-intelligence models. Google account information is not sent to our tax consultation assistant for model training. Human access is limited to authorized service support with your permission, security investigations, and legal obligations.
TAX.hk's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Your choices, revocation, and deletion
You may remove TAX.hk access at any time in your Google Account connections. Revoking access prevents future authorized access but does not automatically delete information already held by TAX.hk or end an existing TAX.hk session; sign out separately.
To request access, correction, account deletion, or deletion of Google-derived data, email [email protected] from your registered address with the subject “Account/data deletion” or describe your request. We will verify account ownership before acting. You do not need to supply your Google password or Google access tokens. We will explain any legally required retention when responding.
Material changes to how we handle Google data will be disclosed here before new uses begin; we will seek additional consent where required. For the conditions of using TAX.hk, see our Terms and Conditions.
